Tucked Away was inspired by a boat trip along the Clyde River in the South Island, where the remnants of old settlements from the gold rush era still linger, their stories echoing through time.
 
At first glance, It presents as a serene landscape on the edge of a river, with nature reclaiming the land where these settlements once thrived. However, as you look deeper into painting, the intricate details of the scene gradually emerge, creating a more intimate connection with the work.
