Tide Lines

Inspired by walks along the beach in my hometown of Ōākura, this piece captures the dynamic energy of the waves as they dance and crash onto the black sand shore. Abstract forms swirl and overlap in a chaotic yet harmonious blend of deep blues, frothy whites, and shimmering hints of dark grey. The movement of the waves is expressed through the fluid motion of the paint, conveying both the power and grace of the ocean.

Subtle textures mimic the feel of wet sand and the pull of the tide around the rocks dotted along the shore break. The piece evokes the rhythmic ebb and flow of nature, a fleeting moment where the sea meets the land in an endless, ever-changing dance.
