The albatross, known for its ability to travel vast distances across the ocean, becomes a symbol of longing, resilience, and return.

The Heart of an Albatross is a self-portrait in metaphor, & deep expression of wanderlust, the need to soar into the unknown, to explore, to feel the world beyond the horizon. And yet, always, a return: to place, to self, to belonging.

Inspired by a coastal spot where I would go to sit and gather my thoughts, this work captures the emotional rhythm of departure and homecoming. It speaks to the balance between seeking and grounding, how the security of knowing where we belong gives us the freedom to fly.
