Fuck It began during the first COVID lockdown in Aotearoa, when art-making collided with scarcity, fatigue, and defiant persistence. With materials running dry and no chance to restock, I used whatever was left — scraps of paint, medium, even brush-cleaning water. Every mark is an act of necessity.
This piece speaks to acceptance, resignation, and the strange clarity that emerges when life takes a hard left turn. It’s about standing in front of the mirror and making a choice: to create something from whatever remains. Beneath the chaos lies a quiet resilience — a moment of self-discovery, an insistence on self-worth, and the decision to leave behind what no longer serves.
